Mike Church
After law school Mike joined the law firm of Turner, Padget, Graham & Laney, P.A. in Columbia, South Carolina, where he practiced for 24 years, initially focusing his practice on insurance defense and later in the area of commercial litigation. Over the years he has been involved in a number of cases involving issues relating to the handling and collection of checks under the UCC and Reg. CC. In 2005 he joined Sherpy & Jones, P.A. where he primarily serves the needs of credit union clients.

Mark Curran, CCUE
Mark began his credit union career in 1978 as an intern at the IBM Raleigh Employees Federal Credit Union, which has evolved to become Coastal Federal Credit Union. During the next 15 years he held a number of operational and management positions at the credit union, including Charlotte area manager. In 1993, Mark joined the CUNA Mutual Group as a field automation consultant, assisting credit unions with PC-based claims and processing solutions. Two years later, he was promoted to senior account manager and relocated to Columbia, SC, where he worked with 45 credit unions throughout the state. Later, Mark accepted a position with the South Carolina Credit Union League and their Service Corporation, which he still holds today. He is often asked to speak on topics relating to credit union operations, specifically check processing and remote deposit capture.
